German Sustainability Award

Dunja Hayali, Sasha, Rea Garvey, Richard Gere, Angélique Kidjo and Naturally 7 - such prominent names were among others on the list of stage actors at the eleventh German Sustainability Award ceremony in December at Düsseldorf's Maritimhotel. The Sustainability Award, which attracts more than 2,000 guests at the ceremony, is the largest of its kind in Europe. The jury selected eleven winners from 800 applicants.

PRG was also involved for the fifth time in a row, providing the "complete service portfolio" for the entire event. As Markus Busch (Senior Account Manager PRG) explains, "For the fifth time, we are carrying out the complete lighting, sound, video technology, set construction and technical equipment for the congress and exhibition." While the lighting design was implemented together with lighting designer Jerry Appelt, PRG was assisted by MMC Studios Cologne for stage construction and set design.

According to Markus Busch, the challenge of this production in particular, which is of medium size for PRG, was the versatility of this event: in addition to the large congress with 2,000 participants, side rooms for the dialog forums had to be equipped with interpreting technology, among other things. Backline and stage management were provided for the gala. The video feed during the awards gala was particularly complex, with the various film elements being fed at short intervals via a redundant watch-out system.
However, these challenges were once again mastered with flying colors. "The cooperation worked like clockwork!" said a delighted Stefan Schulze-Hausmann, the initiator of the award, who particularly emphasized the smooth implementation of customer requests from the international stars, as well as the use of energy-saving technologies and logistically efficient transport processes, which "directly contribute to the idea of sustainability".
